Cultivating Human Resources through Product Development

AKITAKENHAKKO KOGYO cooperated in the product development of "Mitcheri Sour no Moto," an alcoholic beverage invented by the students of Akita Prefectural Yuzawa Shohoku High School. The product is a liqueur made from mitcheri (locally grown cherries that are dried using geothermal heat). The product was commercialized in October 2021 after a joint product development effort with the school’s students. We also offer hands-on experience in labeling and packaging bottles and assisting with sales at local retailers.

One-Day Work Experience

We provide work experience to help participants learn about us as a company that produces alcoholic beverages, enzymes and pharmaceuticals. In addition to providing a company overview and explanation of the enzymes and pharmaceuticals business, we offer experience in product planning and interaction with senior employees.
These activities have been conducted online since 2020 as a result of COVID-19.

Internships for Students at Technical Schools

AKITAKENHAKKO KOGYO offers internships for students at technical schools. These internships offer students an opportunity to think about forging their careers. Programs are designed in accordance with the schools’ wishes.
In August 2020, these internships were conducted over a five-day period.

Local Community Support

To prepare for disasters, we engage in community support activities in cooperation with related organizations.

Donating and Prioritizing the Supply of Alcohol

To help fight COVID-19, we donated alcohol to help with sterilization. In 2020, we donated approximately 6,000 liters of alcohol for this purpose to five cities and towns in Hokkaido and Shizuoka Prefecture, where our offices are located.
That same year, we supplied specific fermentative alcohol in response to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare’s request for cooperation in the "Priority Scheme for the Stable Supply of Ethanol for Hand Sanitizer." After adjusting the alcohol content, the ministry supplied this alcohol to medical institutions and used it as ethanol for disinfection.
